The Poznań University of Technology Choir “Volantes Soni" has already spent 25 years developing their passion for singing. It was established in 1999 by Monika Kusz, a graduate of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. Since then, it has operated under the auspices of the Academic Cultural Centre of the Poznań University of Technology, and since 2005 under the direction of dr hab. Paweł Łuczak, lecturer at the Poznań Academy of Music.
"Volantes Soni" comprises a variety of personalities from different professional backgrounds, mainly students, graduates of the University of Technology and other universities in Poznań. The choir is an integral part of the cultural life of Poznan, honouring celebrations at the university and taking part in numerous projects in the region. It also regularly participates in charity concerts in churches, hospitals, special schools and orphanages, being actively involved in their organisation.
The choir's repertoire includes religious and secular songs from various eras, as well as popular and folk pieces. In its history, the choir has performed many significant vocal and instrumental compositions, such as "Quo Vadis" by Feliks Nowowiejski, "Wesele lubelskie" by Tadeusz Szeligowski, "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff, "Requiem in D minor" by W. A. Mozart, "Messiah" by G.F. Handel, "Misa Criolla" by Ariel Ramirez, as well as works by the Poznań-based composer Zbigniew Kozub "Hymny Maryjne do słów Romana Brandstaettera" or "Te Deum".
