The Poznań University of Technology Choir “Volantes Soni” has been developing the tradition of choral singing at the Poznan University of Technology for over 25 years. Founded in 1999, it operates under the patronage of the University Cultural Center of the Poznań University of Technology and is an important part of the university’s artistic life. Since 2005, the choir has been conducted by Prof. Paweł Łuczak, D.Sc., Ph.D., lecturer at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. Since 2020, the assistant conductor has been Jakub Szpunt.
“Volantes Soni” is a community of people with different interests and experiences. The choir includes students, graduates of the Poznań University of Technology and other universities in Poznań, as well as people from various professions, which shows its openness and diversity.
The choir takes part in academic ceremonies and gives concerts in Poznań and nearby areas. It performs on the main stages of the city and contributes to the cultural life of the region. The group is also active in social projects and often takes part in charity concerts held in churches, special schools, and children’s homes.
Its repertoire is very varied and includes sacred and secular music from different periods, as well as modern arrangements of folk songs and popular music.
“Volantes Soni” is not only a place for musical activity, but also a place where people meet, integrate, and build connections, which makes it a unique part of the academic and artistic community of Poznań.
