The Mahidol Univesity Choir, also known as MU Choir, founded in July 2011 by the idea of the dean college of music - associate professor Dr. Sugree Charoensook, is the University’s premiere mixed choir composed of a select group of students representing the different colleges and faculties of Mahidol University.

Since its establishment, the choir has consistently taken the stage at significant academic and cultural events, garnering numerous international awards. In 2012, the choir claimed victory at the Moscow International Children’s and Youth Choral Festival. Success continued with silver medals at Slovakia Cantat in 2013 and gold medals in Kaunas, Lithuania and Sopot, Poland in 2016. In 2017, MU Choir secured silver medals in Germany and a grand prize in the Czech Republic. By winning the grand prize, MU Choir became the first Thai Choir that won the grand prize in an international choral competition. The victory continued in 2019 with gold medals in Bali and Singapore. In 2023, MU Choir won a gold medal and category winner at the Leonardo Da Vinci International Choral Festival. Beyond competitions, MU Choir collaborates dynamically with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. This collaboration enhances performances of large-scale choral works, showcasing the choir's versatility and commitment to musical excellence. MU Choir is not just a singing group; it's a cultural ambassador representing Mahidol University globally.

Rit's musical journey began at eight, starting piano lessons with Chen Siu May and refining skills under A. Kesorn Jittawait by fifteen. As a seasoned chorister in Bangkok Christian College Boy’s choir, he graced stages globally. In June 2004, Rit attained distinction in LTCL Performer’s Diploma from Trinity College London. His musical prowess shone when he won the Bangkok Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in 2005, earning special accolades for Nocturne and Polonaise renditions. Invited to the Chopin Festival in Busko, Poland, in June 2006, Rit participated in master classes led by Professor Barbara Hesse-Bukowska. In July 2011, he attended the "Understanding Chopin" master class by the National Institute of Frederic Chopin in Poland. As a conductor, Since 2011, he has led Mahidol University Choir to triumph in many international choral competitions. Despite a hand injury in 2011 causing focal dystonia, Rit persevered, recovering as an amateur pianist. He made history as the first Thai pianist accepted to the International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition for Amateur Pianists in 2021, Warsaw, Poland. Since April 2012, Rit has led Mahidol University Choir to international acclaim, winning top honors in prestigious choral competitions. Rit now serves as a full-time instructor at the Conducting Department, College of Music, Mahidol University, holding a Ph.D. in Music from the same institution.
