Poznań University of Medical Sciences Mixed Choir
Poznań University of Medical Sciences Mixed Choir in Poznan has existed since 1959. It is made up of students and graduates of the University of Medical Sciences and other higher education institutions in Poznan. The founder of the ensemble is dr Jerzy Fischbach, both a doctor and conductor; but the artistic development has been supervised for 37 years by the conductor and artistic director of the choir, prof. dr hab. Przemyslaw Pałka. The current artistic image of the ensemble is co-created by the assistant conductor, Aleksandra Pałka, and the accompanist Jakub Koterba. Since its inception, the choir has been an important artistic element of its alma mater, giving concerts at numerous academic ceremonies. It also takes an active part in the cultural life of the city and the country. Throughout its 60 years of activity, the ensemble has been the winner of 31 leading prizes and awards at music competitions and festivals in Poland and Europe.
