In 2015 the Chamber Choir of the Reinhold Glière Kiev Music Institute celebrated its fifteenth anniversary. The ensemble’s members are students of the institute and high schools. The youngest of them is 15 years old.

The choir’s large repertoire combines classical and contemporary music, both secular and spiritual works of different epochs, nations and styles. In addition to classic pieces of choral 16th to 21st century music, the choir often performs world premieres of compositions written by modern Ukrainian composers. A creative friendship has developed over the years between the choir and the composer Victor Stepurko.

The choir gives many concerts in Kiev and other the cities of Ukraine. It was enthusiastically received by the adjudicators at choral art festivals and competitions in Poland, Bulgaria and Serbia and won various prizes. The ensemble received a Grand Prix and award ‘For the best execution of work of the Serbian composer’ at the 23rd International Choral Festival in Serbia.  At the 23rd Ghena Dimitrova International Choral Competition in Bulgaria the choir won the prize ‘For the best execution of competitive work of the Bulgarian composer’.

The Chamber Choir of the Reinhold Glière Kiev Music Institute participated in international festivals of the National Union of Ukrainian Composers: “Musical Premieres of the Season” and “Kiev Music Fest”, the 11th International Festival of University Choirs “Universitas Cantat” in Poland, “Easter Meeting” in Kiev and many others.
