The MIPT Chamber Choir is a community which joins the traditions of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, such as intensive intellectual and creative power with the rich culture of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatorie. This is possible thanks to to the inexhaustible energy of our wonderful director — Alexandra Luzanova.
The MIPT Chamber Choir was founded in 2007 and since then we have won numerous prizes in Russian and international musical festivals, such as the first place in the category “Secular music” and the second place in the category “Sacred music” in the 1st Open Contest of Choral Student Collectives of Technical Universities in Russia “Blagovest” (St. Petersburg, 2015), the Grand-Prix in the 10th International music festival “Lake Pearls” (“Езерски бисери”) in Struga (FYROM, 2014).
The choir has also recorded several albums, performed in opening ceremonies at international conferences and plenary sessions. In such a short period of time we have already written a few glorious pages in MIPT’s history.
Aleksandra Luzanova is the director and conductor of MIPT Chamber Choir since its founding in 2007. She graduated with honours from the State Musical Gnesins’ College (V. Lyubarsky’s class) and Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (S. Kalinin’s class), then finished a postgraduate degree in the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (S. Kalinin’s class).
Before she became the conductor of the MIPT Chamber Choir, she was the director of the Russian State University for the Humanities Choir and taught in departments of vocal performance at various universities in Moscow.
