Paderewski Chamber Choir of the Academy of Music in Poznań was founded in 2012 by
its conductor prof. Marek Gandecki. The ensemble consists of students of various courses and specialities - conducting, composition, instrumental studies, music theory, jazz and stage music, music education, church music.
During the first years of its activity, the ensemble won the main prizes of the most important choral competitions in Poland, including twice the Grand Prix of the “Legnica Cantat” Choral Tournament (2015, 2018) and a special prize at the Stefan Stuligrosz Grand Prix of Polish Choral Music (2018). It has also won the Grand Prix of the Grieg International Choir Festival in Bergen, Norway (2016) and the Grand Prix of the 25th International Choir Festival and Competition of Sacred Music "Cantate Domino" in Kaunas, Lithuania (2017).
The ensemble's repertoire features vocal and vocal-instrumental works from various eras, but is dominated by works of contemporary composers.
Paderewski Chamber Choir of the Academy of Music in Poznań released a two-disc album
entitled Współistnienie/Coexistence in 2019. The artistic image of the ensemble consists of Marek Gandecki - conductor, Przemysław Czekała - vocal preparation, Agata Domalewska - assistant conductor.

 

 

 

 

Marek GandeckiProf. Marek Gandecki - a graduate of the Poznań Academy of Music in the conducting class of prof. Janusz Dzięcioł, a laureate of the 4th National Conductors' Competition in Poznań (1992). An educator at the Poznań Academy of Music as well as at the Postgraduate Studies of Choral Conducting and Voice Emission at the F. Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Originator and director of the Stefan Stuligrosz Grand Prix of Polish Choral Music.
He held the post of Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Choral Conducting, Music Education and Church Music at the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, then Director of the Conducting Institute. Currently, he is Head of the Chair of Choral Conducting at the Poznań Academy of Music and a member of the University Council.
The founder and conductor of the Paderewski Chamber Choir of the Academy of Music in Poznań, The Poznań University of Economics Chamber Choir „Musica Viva” and the Choir of the Kórnik Castle "Castellum Cantans" (1999-2013). He is a juror of choral competitions and festivals, a lecturer at conducting workshops and choral master courses. He conducted a series of training courses organised by Bernard Brunhes Poland (BPI Group), related to leadership, team management and creativity, addressed to the managerial staff of leading Polish and international institutions.

 

Agata DomalewskaAgata Domalewska began her choral adventure with the Olsztyn Girls’ Choir “Cantabile” (conducted by Agata Wilińska) and Collegium Juvenum (conducted by Joanna Muśko). Over the past four years she has led various choirs in Poznań, including the “Octavus Orbis” Choir of the 8th High School, the “Sine Nomine” Chamber Choir (artistic director Anna Grześkowiak). She participated in numerous conducting and choirmaster courses conducted by, among others, Roger Treece, Raul Talmar or Theodora Pavlovitch.

In 2021, she completed an internship at the Chamber Choir of the Mannheim University of Music under the supervision of Professor Harald Jers. As a vocalist of the European Choir, she represented Poland at the Europa Cantat 2021 Festival in Ljubliana, Slovenia.

Currently, she is the conductor of two ensembles at the Mieczyslaw Karłowicz Secondary Music School in Poznań. She teaches at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where she is also assistant conductor of the Chamber Choir (Marek Gandecki). She is also the second conductor of the Chamber Choir "Dysonans" (conducted by Magdalena Wdowicka-Mackiewicz) and co-creator of the Vocal Ensemble "Affectus" (conducted by Tomasz Karwański).
