The Chamber Choir of the Academy of Music in Poznan was founded in October 2012 by its conductor, Professor Marek Gandecki. The choir brings togethee students of music education, theory of music, conducting, composing, various musical instruments, and church music. It has already won a number of prizes at choral contests and festivals: 2013: Grand Prix at the 16th Łódź Choral Festival Cantio Lodziensis in Łódź, Poland 2014: Gold Prize at the 49th Jan Szyrocki International Choral Festival in Międzyzdroje, Poland 2014: Grand Prix, Gold Prize in the category mixed choirs and special prize for the best academic choir at the 6th All-Poland Choral Contest Ars Liturgica; Gold Prize in the choral ensembles category at the 26th Father Stanisław Ormiński International Festival of Religious Music in Rumia, Poland. The Chamber Choir’s artistic image is created by: Marek Gandecki: conductor Marianna Majchrzak: assistant conductor Przemyslaw Czekała: voice projection Prof. Marek Gandecki graduated from the Poznan Academy of Music, where he studied conducting in the class of Prof. Janusz Dzięcioł. In 1992 he won the 4th National Conducting Contest in Poznan. He is the founder and conductor of the Poznan University of Economics Chamber Choir Musica Viva. He co-founded the Kórnik Castle Choir Castellum Cantans, with whom he cooperated in years 1999-2013, and directed the Bard Choir in years 1992-2001. Prof. Marek Gandecki’s ensembles won many prestigious prizes in choral contests, he was awarded individual prizes for the best conductor as well. He has been an adjudicator in choral contests and festivals. He is a lecturer at the Poznan Academy of Music.
